Mr. President, Lead Us Well.

As the number one citizen of the country, the President is the most popular person albeit the most relevant person and is accorded a lot of privileges and comfort.
This is probably the reason why the President cannot come to terms with the immense sufferings plaguing the majority of the masses in the country.
The ills of poverty, unemployment, starvation and malnutrition, inflation, lack of basic social amenities and infrastructure, insecurity and terrorism seems like too much of a burden for one man to carry.
So instead of exerting his strength and powers trying to vanquish an age long malady.
I can only assume that the president is advised that the people of his country have gotten toughened by the long years of sufferings, because it is a common saying that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
Since the immunity of the masses has been beefed up to survive the hardship of life in the country, I guess the president worries little about alleviating the sufferings of his people, and instead focuses on his political ambitions and international collaborations which is structured in such a way that only the few citizens at the top of the ruling pyramid gets to be beneficiaries.
Then pictures are taken and news media are broadcasted claiming that the president is working tremendously to change the fortune of the unborn generation, because the generation which he is ruler of are so unredeemable that it is almost insane to try and liberate them from their sufferings which are now too terminal to be separated, like a cancerous organ too far gone for treatment, the best that can be done is to manage the illness till the final moment.
Democracy it seems is no different from the colony of bees. The president being the Queen bee, while the masses gets split into the workers and soldiers, leaving the unfortunately displaced masses without a sense of placement and responsibility to languish in poverty and frustration.
Lead us well, govern us well. This is the reason why we gave up to you the mandate of leadership, why we listened and put our hopes on your campaign promises, why we rallied our support to enthrone you as President of our great nation. To put an end to the shame and sufferings we have had to live with for decades, smiling and acting like we are happy while our dreams and ambitions slowly fade from our reality.
Lead us well, govern us well, because any leader who fails in his responsibility to his people has created more of the problems which he was elected to try and remedy, and thus deserves a fate worse than death.
