Think insane dance moves, think Mc Galaxy...Komolop Cholop.

Image
Photo credit: Google images Mc Galaxy's got a new raving tune hitting the Nigerian airwaves which he titled "Komolop Cholop". Now that's not really news, but what's impressive about this tune is South African producer Uhuru teaming up with Nigerian producer Shizzi to create the beat to which Mc Galaxy gets inspired to create another dance monstrosity. Photo credit: Google images Also rocking a new alias, Mc Galaxy calls himself the King of new dance and we totally agree. Image
Photo credit: Google images Born Innocent Ujah Idibia in Plateau State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the city called Jos on the eighteenth day of September in the year 1975, 2face Idibia as he's popularly known has made music that has somehow managed to transcend time and only get refined with age. Photo credit: Google images From Nfana Ibaga to African Queen to Implication, if love is a crime featuring Ghana's VIP to my rainbow featuring American singer T-pain. 2face's works has enjoyed lots of regional and international recognition and has bagged him loads of awards and endorsement packages. But really what's shocking is how well people seem to enjoy his songs even years after their release date. Photo credit: Google images Almost like the time of the great Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulakpo Ransome Kuti whom some people referred to as the Nigerian musical messiah because of the truth embedded in the lyrics of his songs, 2face shares simila

Messages to an unknown mister: John Doe;

Image
Photo credit: Google images Most times a person appears to be attractive because of the combination of his/her style of fashion, make-up and physical composure, but behind that facade of perfection most times lies an imperfect soul, a John or a jane Doe, someone so different from what's seen on the exterior. Photo credit: Google images So last night I was listening to American hiphop recording artist and record producer Bobby Ray Simmons Jr popularly known as B.o.B in his song titled "John Doe" featuring the guest vocals of American singer-songwriter Priscilla. Photo credit: Google images While the message of the song was as clear as the summer skies singing about addictions and overcoming them, here's one thing I think we should all wonder about, when we come across all the beautiful unknown John and jane Doe, which we encounter everyday while living, "how right is your imperfect soul? Because your appearance speaks of great beauty especia

Yemi Alade's "Taking over me" feat Phyno is still on my most played songs list.

Image
Photo credit: Google images Cute and Sultry female singer Yemi Alade is one woman who has got magical lyrics and a great sense of rhythm which has always managed to get me moving. Photo credit: Google images And surprisingly, her smash hit single "Taking over me" which dropped sometime late in the year 2014 featuring Ibo indigenous rapper Phyno has managed to remain on the list of my top ten most played songs of 2015. Photo credit: Google images Sexy, charming and a Sultry damsel taking top spot on my playlist is Yemi Alade in "Taking over me" featuring Phyno. Three Nigerians, two Britons, one Ghanian and one American. "Freak of the week".

Image
Photo credit: Google images Krept and Konan an award winning English hiphop duo from South London... Now I'm gonna go ahead and say that I've never heard shii about these two english rappers before but for them getting Wizkid, Davido and Ice Prince, three top Nigerian musicians doing great in their separate careers together on a song alongside American singer and songwriter "Jeremih" and British musician of Ghanian descent "Fuse ODG" it's a stunt worth applauding. Photo credit: Google images Dropping the Afrobeat remix of their hit single "freak of the week" Krept and Konan finally got Wizkid and Davido working together which is one of the most anticipated events by fans on both sides with Ice Prince and Fuse ODG in the works to make for an explosive remix. So here's a link to go download and listen to Krept and Konan "Freak of the week" the Afrobeat remix featuring Wizkid, Davido, Ice Prince, Jeremih and Fuse ODG

If love is a crime... 2face Idibia.

Image
Photo credit: Google images It's crazy how fast time flies sometimes, because I still remember clearly the first time I heard 2face's "if love is a crime" hit single and how it was the rave back when 2006 when he dropped the "Grass 2 Grace" album. Photo credit: Google images So now boys have become men and as men it becomes really important to go find that missing rib. Then I heard 2face's "if love is a crime" playing in my head this morning while I was about getting ready to go take care of the business of the day and I just couldn't shake the thoughts and feelings it inspired. Photo credit: Google images Now with a happy ending no where near in sight, there's just one thing left to do and that's to take the advice of the end lyrics of the song and somehow manage to keep the fire burning till that day when the missing rib is found then joined happily. So like always, here's a link to download and liste

Debate: Cocaine or Semovita. Davido's "Fans mi" video.

Image
Photo credit: Google images Topping the African Music industry with one of Africa's biggest collaboration with the West in 2015 is top Nigerian music art from the HKN Gang stables "Davido" in his song titled "Fans Mi" featuring ace American rapper "Meek Mills" from the Maybach music group/ Dream Chasers Records imprint. Photo credit: Google images Now the visuals to the song has generated a bit of a stir as allegedly the National drug law enforcement agency of Nigeria (NDLEA) has signified it's interest in the video and the substances which were portrayed in the video which was made to look like it was cocaine. Photo credit: Google images But here's how I interpreted the "Fans mi" video, although the concept is a bit of a stretch for the average Nigerian mind. To me the video tells a tale of Davido an indigenous Nigerian man managing to make a transaction with a sort of drug peddling organization selling to

Wizkid made me dance under the showers...

Image
Photo credit: Google images For most people, hitting the showers means an amateur singing rehearsal, where they get to exercise their vocal cords singing their favorite songs beneath the steady drops of water from their bathroom shower. Photo credit: Google images But for me it's a mini Deejay/Clubhouse session where I hit the play button on my device and listen while the songs on my play list gets shuffled out the speakers. And sometimes when the beat and rhythm gets to my head, I bust a move and nod my head a lot. Photo credit: Google images Photo credit: Google images Now Wizkid has always got that extra something in all of his songs that somehow gets everyone loving it, but when it comes to getting me to dance in the showers, its Wizkid singing "Sound it" with beat produced by Sarz that does the magic. Would you get mad if I ask you 21 Questions?

Image
Photo credit: Google images I got a major #throwback feeling yesterday while taking an evening stroll through the neighborhood I currently reside in, partly because it's been a while since I last walked past the streets at that time of day and partly because the speakers of a nearby drinking saloon kept blaring out 50 cent's "21 Questions" on repeat taking back in time to 2003 when the song was still the "shii..." Photo credit: Google images Hearing such an old tune while walking the streets was all the motivation I needed to go download and enjoy the lyrics of 50 cents in "21 questions" and if you do recall the song and are familiar with the lyrics, I'll bet you could still relate to the lyrics of the song and the messages it preaches but just in case you've forgotten.... Here's a link to go download and listen to 50 cents in "21 Questions and maybe later ask your spouse a few questions. PLEASE BE SOCIABLE: LIKE

Who knew Eminem could draw so well.

Image
Photo credit: Google images I was idly surfing the internet when I came across a post which wrote about Eminem's love for the late American rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur and a letter which supposedly was penned by Eminem to Afeni Shakur "Tupac's mother" expressing his sympathy about the loss of the rap icon and what he meant to him and how his works affected Eminem's life and career. But most surprising was the sketch which accompanied the letter depicting a hand drawn image of Tupac Shakur which totally captured the essence of the rap icon. Photo credit: Google images Now if truly this sketch was drawn by the hand of prolific writer and rapper Marshall Bruce Mathers III aka Eminem, I wonder how many more drawings he's worked on and whoever knew about this hidden talent. Now for the letter which is the rave and brought this sketch coming to the light see the picture after the cut. Photo credit: Google images PLEASE BE SOCIABLE: LIKE, FOL

Would Nigeria ever see another man like the man Fela Kuti?

Image
I got a couple of cool old school music, off of my Dad's laptop quite recently. Some Don Williams, Jim Reeves, Bob Marley, Ebenezer Obey, King Sunny Ade, Prince Morocco Maduka and of course some of the greatest tracks ever made by the man Fela Anikulakpo Ransome Kuti. Photo credit: Google images After listening to tracks by Fela like "Teacher don't teach me nonsense", "My grammarticalogylisationalism is the boss" "International theif theif" And "Army Arrangement" I was forced to wonder, would God ever be so kind as to produce another man so controversial as the man named Fela in the Land of Nigeria again? Singing about the woes and tales of the average Nigerian man Fela idolized himself by openly criticizing the government and pointing out their flaws and corruption like a litmus paper showing the acidic nature of the then Nigerian government for all to see.
