Isn't it ironic? Don't you think?

Irony and Ironic Statements are techniques used in English to emphasize a point using the opposite (or deeper) meaning of something.
Irony can best be defined as that middle ground between what is said and what is meant, or others’ understanding of what was said and what was meant. It can sometimes be a bit confusing, yet at the same time it can also be amusing.
For example, Romeo finds Juliet in a drugged state and he thinks she is dead. He kills himself. When Juliet wakes up she finds Romeo dead and kills herself.

Who would've thought... Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids goodbye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought
"Well isn't this nice..."
And isn't it ironic... don't you think?

A traffic jam when you're already late
A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
And isn't it ironic...don't you think

Of all the things you swore never to do as a child, the irony hits so hard as an adult when you just have to accept that you're addicted to doing those same things you swore never to do.
But here we've got Alanis Morissette in this great song she titled "Ironic." and won't it be ironic if you didn't click the download link right now and then you hear it play one hour later on the city bus on your way home from work and can't help but love it. Don't you think?
