Photo credit: Google images Wake up! Wake up! The seconds it takes before the eyelids will open to once again reveal the wonders of my world. I take some of those seconds for my private thoughts. I love it in the city, the chase of the money hunt always tend to be more exciting in popularly recognized cities around the world. Around my home town, I realize that I'm no stranger to a lot of people. I share a history with most of these people, even though I played no major role in creating those historical past events. The friends made and stories told in and about a city are quite thrilling, and almost everyone lives in one city or another nowadays. Photo credit: Google images The room is dark and quiet, and not even the flicker of a candlelight to illuminate the corners. I lie still, taking in deep breaths, on my mattress laid out on the bedroom floor. The songs of mosquitoes sound faintly, and even that seems like a whisper not enough to break the deafening silence. My mind is afloat in a churning sea of thoughts threatening to drown it and have it sink into the bottomless depths of despair. How did I get here? I fear for the coming future, the uncertainty of which makes it all a confusing mystery. I realize where I am, as even the darkest of nights cannot take away my knowledge. I try to stare at the ceiling in the darkness, hoping for a moment of clarity, or maybe an epiphany, something to explain to me what my next move should be. How did I ...
